Philip Taylor is Senior Managing Director and Head of the Americas for Invesco, a position he began in 2012. He had previously served as head of Invesco’s North American Retail business since 2006. He joined Invesco Canada in 1999 as senior vice president of operations and client services, and later became executive vice president and chief operating officer. He was named chief executive officer of Invesco Canada in 2002.
Prior to joining Invesco, Mr. Taylor was president of Canadian retail broker Investors Group Securities, and co-founder and managing partner of Meridian Securities, an execution and clearing broker. He held various management positions with Royal Trust, now part of Royal Bank of Canada. Mr. Taylor began his career in consumer brand management in the U.S. and Canada with Richardson-Vicks, now part of Procter & Gamble.
He received a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree from Carleton University and an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Mr. Taylor is a member of the dean's advisory council of the Schulich School of Business. He serves on the board of overseers for the Curtis Institute of Music, one of the world’s leading conservatories for gifted young musicians. He serves on the board of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and has been chair of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
